Among many projects made by Persona Film the one that stands out is the motion picture “The Queen’s Orphans” , in search of resources, this film intends to narrate the history of the Inquisition in Brazil, which occurred in the late XVI century. The research and documentation worked for this production includes the documentary “The Saint Visitation”, already made, and it completes itself with another documentary “White Gold”, in preparation, which will rescue the trails of the first sugar mills up in the Brazilian Northeast.
The Cineport Laboratory of Screen Plays, an ongoing project, calls attention to the importance of initiatives to the formation of new professionals in the cinema area, especially in Minas Gerais. The innovative format and the participation of well known specialists give the tone to this project that is the first step of the course. The writers selected to the laboratory have the rare opportunity to better themselves in this work that is considered a fragile aspect in the Brazilian cinema.
